Misty’s Story: A Journey of Love, Care, and Community

Misty’s Story: A Journey of Love, Care, and Community

This summer, in the midst of the scorching heat, Misty—a sweet and very pregnant Chihuahua—found her way to the Brant County SPCA. Like any new mother, Misty needed a village, and we were there to support her every step of the way. After an ultrasound, we estimated her due date and realized she would need a special foster home. Misty was measuring large, and there was a concern that she might need an emergency C-section. During her stay with us, Misty quickly bonded with our staff—especially with Amy, who often had Misty snuggled on her lap while she worked. It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news. Earlier this afternoon, Winnie lost her brave battle against the Parvo virus. She fought valiantly until the very end. Winnie received exceptional treatment from dedicated vets and Brant County SPCA staff, who ensured she was surrounded by love throughout her battle. Winnie’s brother, Winston, remains healthy and shows no signs of the virus. He will carry on Winnie’s legacy, and her spirit will live on through him. We are immensely grateful to each of you who were touched by […]
