You Help Keep Families Together

You Help Keep Families Together

Doug is reunited with Cheeco, Shyanne and Buddy When you meet Doug, you can see how much he loves his animals. It’s written all over his face. Doug’s dogs are his best friends – and they show their love for him with their constant tail-wagging and cuddles. Doug is one of our Pets for Life clients. He has three long-haired Chihuahuas; Shyanne and Cheeco are parents to Buddy. Through our Pets for Life program at Winston Court, an affordable housing complex in Brantford, our Wellness Clinic team was able to assess Doug’s dogs, and give them the care they needed. All three dogs were spayed and neutered and Cheeco’s ears were treated […]

Billy needs your help!

Billy needs your help!

Nobody wants to get that call. I had seen one of our foster pups, Willow, earlier in the day with our Vet. She had a funny tummy and was given medication but didn’t seem very sick. Then, later that night I started to get phone calls from other foster volunteers. A week earlier we had placed 12 mastiff mix puppies into foster homes. Their mama had an unexpected litter of 12 puppies and the owner had asked us for help in finding homes for her puppies. After talking to our foster volunteers, Billy and Harley, two of the 12 pups, were rushed to the emergency vet clinic. Billy tested positive […]

Vinny’s Journey

Vinny’s Journey

Have you ever felt a little lost? Unsure of what your next steps in life are? For me, this feeling came a little later in life. It wasn’t until my health started to decline that I found myself lost, but with a little hope and some help from my friends, I was found. It’s a funny thing; getting older. When I was younger, I could run for hours, only stopping to get a quick drink before I was off again…now I still run – but it seems as though each day brings a new ache or pain. Maybe it was because I was getting older? Or that I started to […]
